EQUIPLAST - Fira de Barcelona

The sixteenth edition of Equiplast served to renew and modernize the machine stock of the Spanish plastics and rubber sector. Indeed, many commercial deals were closed at Equiplast by visitors who came to the show with the express intention of buying products from exhibitors.

The show served as a major boost for sales which, after a promising start to the year, had slowed down considerably. Equiplast welcomed more than 7,000 professional visitors and over 200 direct and indirect exhibitors at an edition that exhibitors and visitors alike said made them feel more positive about the future.

Equiplast was visited by buyers from Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala and Morocco, amongst other countries, thanks to the collaboration agreements established by the show with organizations such as ICEX and the Latin American Plastics Industry Association (ALIPLAST).

Equiplast featured various different options for getting access to lines of credit to help companies tackle the current difficult situation. Of particular note was the presentation of the IBEROEKA programme of bilateral collaboration with Latin American countries.

More than 350 engineers specializing in plastics from all over the world attended the first edition of the EUROTEC Congress, organized by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE). Activities included the presentation of a comprehensive study on recycling plastic in Spain, given by Plastics Europe, and a report on the sector’s economic results, organized by the Spanish Plastics Centre (CEP).
