Interview with Ricardo Coscollola, CEO of Coscollola Group
Founded more than 75 years ago, Coscollola is a leader in plastics processing solutions in the Iberian Peninsula, combining machinery distribution with high-level engineering services. The Barcelona-based family business will once again be a Global Partner at Equiplast 2026.
What are your distinctive elements compared to other companies in the sector?

What sets us apart is the trust we build with our clients and partners: trust that we will always provide the best available technology, that we will support each project from start to finish, and that we strive for excellence in our work with a committed and approachable technical and commercial team. Thanks to our partnerships with leading global brands, we deliver innovative and reliable solutions that help our clients grow. At Coscollola, we know that trust cannot be taken for granted: we earn it every day by doing our work well, delivering results, adding real value, and always standing by our clients.
What type of clients do you serve?
We work with plastics processors of all sizes and sectors, from small companies with very specific needs to large industrial groups requiring complete and customised solutions. One of the things our clients particularly value is the combination we offer: not only do we provide machinery from the world’s top brands, but we also back it with our own high-level engineering, expert technical service, and the availability of original spare parts. This guarantees maximum performance and production continuity. In our sector, delivering the best technology is not enough: it must be accompanied by impeccable support that gives clients confidence and peace of mind at all times.

Which are your main markets? Do you have plans for international expansion?
For Coscollola, our main markets today are Spain and Portugal, where we have consolidated a leadership position in machinery distribution for plastics processing and in providing high-quality technical services. In the medium term, our goal is to continue strengthening our presence in these markets, expanding our portfolio of solutions and partnerships with leading players, always with the same focus: delivering trust, quality, and technical service that makes a difference.
The Group has made a strong commitment to its own engineering capabilities through Coscollola Engineering and CiTD. How important is this area to the Group’s business?
That’s right. In recent years we have made a significant investment in our own engineering capabilities because we believe the future lies in offering complete, integrated solutions. Coscollola Engineering has established itself as a process engineering specialist in solids and liquids handling, with a clear focus on the plastics, chemical, and petrochemical industries. This allows us to deliver turnkey projects and comprehensive solutions, from design to commissioning, tailored to each plant.

Meanwhile, CiTD is our aerospace and aeronautical engineering firm, with offices in Madrid and Seville and a highly qualified team that designs, develops, and manufactures components for the aerospace industry. This opens new opportunities for diversification and technological synergies within the Group. We also have advanced additive manufacturing capabilities, which provide opportunities to diversify further and apply these advanced technologies in other sectors, delivering more sustainable and efficient solutions.
Together, our two engineering companies now represent a fundamental pillar of the Coscollola Group’s business: we not only supply top-level machinery, but also support our clients throughout the process with tailor-made solutions and the peace of mind of having an expert partner in every area.
What are the main pillars of the company’s sustainability strategy?
We base our strategy on three main pillars: first, we provide machinery and solutions that enable our clients to optimise processes and reduce energy consumption, fostering more efficient production with a lower carbon footprint. Second, we are strongly committed to the circular economy and plastic waste recovery, incorporating more and more technologies dedicated to recycling and material reuse. Third, we work internally to minimise the environmental impact of our own operations, from reducing energy use and emissions to implementing continuous improvement policies and community engagement initiatives.
For us, sustainability is not a future goal: it is a present, tangible commitment to our clients and our environment.
What does it mean for Coscollola to be a Global Partner of Equiplast? What are your expectations for the 2026 edition?
It is an honour and a responsibility that we embrace with enthusiasm, as it allows us to strengthen our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and service excellence. Equiplast is a key platform to showcase our comprehensive solutions, from top-brand machinery to engineering services and additive manufacturing. Our role as a Global Partner will give us the opportunity to establish strategic connections, share knowledge, and collaborate in the development of technologies that drive the circular economy and energy efficiency in the plastics industry.
Looking ahead to the 2026 edition, our expectations are high. We aim to consolidate relationships with our existing clients, attract new contacts, and contribute actively to the dialogue on the challenges and opportunities facing the sector. We are convinced that Equiplast 2026 will be an essential meeting point to move towards a more sustainable and competitive future in plastics processing.
With one year to go until the trade fair, are you already preparing the innovations you will present? If so, could you tell us, in broad terms, what they will consist of?
Yes, we are already working intensively on the innovations we will showcase at Equiplast 2026. Our goal is to offer solutions that respond to the sector’s current demands in terms of efficiency, sustainability, and digitalisation.
In high-performance machinery, we will present next-generation injection and extrusion equipment with significant improvements in energy efficiency and precision, adapted to the needs of today’s industry. In terms of integrated engineering solutions, through Coscollola Engineering we will showcase turnkey projects covering everything from design to implementation of complete solids and liquids handling systems, including pneumatic conveying, storage, and dosing. And in advanced additive manufacturing, we will feature KraussMaffei’s PowerPrint, enabling more flexible and sustainable production.
In addition, in line with Equiplast 2026’s “Rethinking Plastic” initiative, we will focus on solutions that promote the circular economy, including technologies for efficient recycling and plastics reuse. We are convinced that Equiplast 2026 will be an excellent opportunity to share these advances and strengthen our relationships with clients and partners on the road to a more sustainable and competitive industry.
Why would you recommend companies in the sector to attend Equiplast?
Equiplast is the key meeting point for the entire plastics industry. It provides the chance to discover the latest technological innovations, explore new solutions to improve efficiency and sustainability in production processes, and build relationships with partners and potential clients. In addition, the trade fair offers a programme of activities and spaces such as “Rethinking Plastic” that highlight the circular economy and the sustainable transformation of the sector. Without a doubt, it is a must-attend event for companies that want to grow, advance, and adapt to the new challenges of the market.
