Sectoral report on plastics in Spain
Equiplast, in collaboration with the main industry entities, has republished the sectoral study launched in 2023 ahead of the 2026 trade fair.
The aim is to provide an updated overview of the plastics industry as a strategic and cross-cutting sector, playing a key role in the competitiveness and development of other productive activities. The study analyses the positioning of the Spanish plastics sector within the European and global context, as well as its applicability, added value and potential for transformation.
The research quantifies, categorises and analyses the economic figures of more than 3,600 companies, with a turnover of nearly €29 billion, representing around 5.2% of industrial turnover and nearly 2% of national GDP.
Based on a comparison with 2023, it examines the evolution of the business landscape in key areas such as machinery, processing and recycling. The document presents a strategic overview of the main trends, challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of the industry.
