Equiplast honours firms and individuals for their contributions to the plastics industry

On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, Equiplast held a sectoral recognition event this afternoon in which it paid tribute to more than thirty companies and professionals, highlighting the loyalty of the exhibitors present since its first edition, in 1987, as well as the trajectory of companies, entities and people who have contributed to the development of the plastics industry in Spain.

The event was attended by the president of the Equiplast Organising Committee, Bernd Roegele, who stressed that “Equiplast is the reflection of a collective project built over decades thanks to the trust of companies and the commitment of the professionals who have driven the evolution of the sector”.

In this tribute, the show has distinguished some twenty companies that participated in the inaugural edition of Equiplast and that continue to do so today, as an example of continuity and loyalty to the fair. Among them are Alboex Periféricos, Alimatic, Arburg, ASCAMM (Associació Catalana d’Empreses de Motlles i Matrius), Construcciones Electromecánicas del Ter, Centro Técnica (CT Servicio), Diego Giordani Plastic Machinery, Engel Austria, Gibitre Instruments, Industrial y Comercial Marse, Luiso, Mateu y Solé, Mecasonic España, Protecnic 1967, Radici Plastics Ibérica, Sepro Robótica, Stäubli Española, Talleres Peña, Tool-Temp España and Wittmann Technology Spain.

The recognition has also been extended to companies and entities that celebrate significant milestones in their history, reflecting the strength and experience accumulated by the industry. In this section, Raorsa, which commemorates its 40th anniversary in 2025; ASCAMM, with 45 years of experience; Alboex and Wittmann, both on their 50th anniversary; Guztec, which celebrates 85 years of activity; as well as the magazine Plásticos Universales, which reaches its 70th anniversary as an informative reference in the sector.

The event also included a tribute to professionals whose work has been decisive for the development of the plastics sector in our country. Juan Cerdá, doctor of industrial engineering linked to Protecnic; Enrique Coscollola, former CEO of Coscollola; and Magí Galindo, former member of the Equiplast Organising Committee and a benchmark in the promotion of new applications of plastics through additive manufacturing from Leitat. The show also honoured Albert Riera, external consultant at Eurecat and member of the Equiplast organising committee.

The event also had a moment of remembrance with a recognition in memoriam of Luis Cediel, former director general of the Spanish Association of Plastics Industrialists (ANAIP) who recently passed away, for his outstanding work in the defence and representation of the sector before the institutions.

During his speech, Roegele stressed that “these recognitions highlight the ability of the plastics sector to evolve, innovate and face current challenges with determination, especially in terms of sustainability and circular economy”, underlining Equiplast’s role as a meeting point and engine of transformation of the industry.

Organised by Fira de Barcelona, Equiplast is the main trade fair platform in the Iberian market for the promotion of business, innovation and knowledge of plastics. In this edition, which is being held until tomorrow, Friday, it brings together nearly 400 exhibitors from 18 countries.
