Circularity Combining Sustainability and Food Safety in Industrial and Commercial Plastic Packaging
The LIFECLOOVER2 2023–2027 project is implementing closed-loop systems for the reuse and recycling of polyolefin plastic packaging for agri-food uses. Industrial drums, jerrycans, and commercial fruit and vegetable boxes undergo multiple reuse cycles, after which they are recycled; the resulting raw material is incorporated into the manufacture of new packaging, ensuring functionality and food safety. Coordinated by SINTAC, the project includes industrial partners AGROFRESH, GCR, PALEC ECOLÓGICO and REYDE-GRUPO ARMANDO ALVAREZ, and associations AMAFRUVA and CAPEC.
