The SINTEC project (Intersectoral Synergies for the Circular Economy) aims to analyze and activate opportunities for industrial symbiosis between the technical textiles, advanced materials, waste management, and packaging sectors, with a particular focus on the valorization of textile waste with high polymer content, characterized by material complexity, low recyclability, and limited reuse.
Through a methodology that combines waste flow analysis, identification of industrial needs, and intersectoral co-creation processes, the project identifies the potential of these residues as secondary raw materials for the development of new applications, especially in the field of packaging.

The path toward its implementation as an industrial reality must address different aspects related both to the processes themselves and to the pre-treatment of waste, as well as improving the quality of the resulting products, in addition to considering economic and regulatory environments. Through activities in R&D projects, the key factors across several of these aspects are identified. Rethinking Plastic

The facility focuses on the recovery of polyaluminum for the production of rLDPE, the recycling of Bag-in-Box packaging to generate rLDPE, and the production of HDPE and PP blends from bottle caps. The plant will serve as a demonstration of our patented technologies: mechanical delamination, which enables the recovery of materials by removing adhesives and inks, and decontamination, designed to eliminate compounds and odors present in recycled plastics. These processes make it possible to obtain high-value materials suitable for new industrial applications, including pellets and film. Examples of industrial validation and collaboration with manufacturers will be presented, showing how multilayer packaging—traditionally difficult to recycle—can be efficiently integrated into a circular economy, combining technological innovation and sustainability.
