Industrial drums, jerrycans, and commercial fruit and vegetable boxes undergo multiple reuse cycles, after which they are recycled; the resulting raw material is incorporated into the manufacture of new packaging, ensuring functionality and food safety. The SINTEC project (Intersectoral Synergies for the Circular Economy) aims to analyze and activate opportunities for industrial symbiosis between the technical textiles, advanced materials, waste management, and packaging sectors, with a particular focus on the valorization of textile waste with high polymer content, characterized by material complexity, low recyclability, and limited reuse.

Through a methodology that combines waste flow analysis, identification of industrial needs, and intersectoral co-creation processes, the project identifies the potential of these residues as secondary raw materials for the development of new applications, especially in the field of packaging.
